I heard two good talks today, one by this man.The Director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture, Peter Hofherr on "Wine: the making of an Industry", and one by Amu Sue Bix, an associate history professor at Iowa State, on the topic "Women and Engineering: A Historical Perspective." I was amazed at how well these talks were given. Especially the talk by Peter Hofherr. Peter Hofherr also runs the St. James Winery and in the talk he explained how his father had gotten into the wine business, and how he himself ended up taking over. It was interesting to note that the father chose him to run the business out of three boys. One boy was a winemaker, the other a grape producer, and finally, Peter was a business man. Just makes me think. I like this guy, he doesn't focus on just one aspect of anything. He got a bachelors degree in Microbiology and a masters in Business Administration. Makes me think, Makes me think. Makes me think that I need to find a way to be the most interdisplinary that I can be. Makes me think.

I wish I could show you pictures from Sue's talk, War propaganda is so funny. If you like to know more e-mail me
